After 1945 Wilhelm Wagenfeld developed into the most versatile designer of serial products of the consumer goods industry in the Federal Republic. He is intensively involved in the design of the changing living conditions of his fellow men and finds solutions of great sustainability, high utility value and restrained aesthetics that convince buyers for decades.  At the same time, his experiments with new materials and techniques lead to a reduction in the cost of goods and to their improvement. Both manufacturers and buyers benefit from this.
