Few one-room houses are so modern and have such a high recognition value as the Farnsworth House™, created by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. This single-storey steel structure with glass walls extending from floor to ceiling aims to harmonise minimalist furnishings with nature. It was built between 1945 and 1951 on a 240,000 m2 site on the Fox River in Plano, Illinois, where it still stands today. The 25 cm wide model of Farnsworth House stands on a nameplate. The enclosed brochure contains information about the building, its construction and its history.
