Description
This book presents for the first time all 17 of Le Corbusier's buildings and building ensembles that have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A generous picture section presents the buildings individually, combined with an explanation of their exceptional universal value.
In the text section, experts explain the process of the transnational application, the methodical procedure and the special nature of Corbusier's work. A contribution on the IBA StadtRegion Stuttgart 2027 establishes the current reference to Stuttgart and the Weißenhofsiedlung.
Friedemann Gschwind was deputy head of the Office for Urban Planning and Housing and publishes this book with the Friends of the Weissenhofsiedlung association, supported by the Wüstenrot Foundation, the City of Stuttgart and the Fondation Le Corbusier, which provides images.
