Kandinsky was one of the most important expressionists and "inventors" of abstract painting - he was influenced by folk art and modernism. In 1911 he founded the famous "Blauer Reiter" in Munich and from 1922 he taught at the legendary Bauhaus. His circle included Gabriele Münter, Franz Marc, Alexej von Jawlensky and Paul Klee. This monograph shows famous works, tells of Kandinsky's groundbreaking ideas and his passion for music and women.
