Bauhaus Bauspiel
During her training at the legendary Bauhaus in 1923, Alma Siedhoff-Buscher designed this Bauhaus Bauspiel as part of the children’s room in the model house “Am Horn” in Weimar. It was produced in different versions afterwards in the Bauhaus workshops. The original design of the toy by Alma Siedhoff-Buscher comprises two sizes: the smaller 22-piece variant has been produced by the Swiss company Naef since 1977. A piece of contemporary history as a replica.
Lotte am Bauhaus DVD
Weimar, 1921: The life of 20-year-old Lotte Brendel seems to have been marked out by her father - as wife and mother at the side of a man who is to take over his parents' carpentry business. Against the will of her family, the unconventional and artistically talented Lotte joins a group of young artists, applies to the Bauhaus - and is accepted. The Weimar Bauhaus under the direction of the visionary Walter Gropius aims not only to combine art and craftsmanship, but also to accommodate the "New Man". In Bauhäusler Paul Seligmann, Lotte finds a supporter and her great love. She is given the opportunity to complete her studies as a woman with equal rights - guided by world-famous artists such as Johannes Itten, Feininger, Kandinsky, Klee and Schlemmer. But the break with her family, questions of equality and political pressure on the Bauhaus make her life more difficult.
