Description

In 1923, the Hungarian Gyula Pap designed the slim Bauhaus floor lamp BST 23 in the metal workshop of the State Bauhaus in Weimar. It was not until decades later that Tecnolumen started series production of this lamp. The model for the production was an already designed luminaire located in the famous Bauhaus model apartment in the Haus am Horn. The new production was then carried out true to the original according to the specifications of Gyula Pap and with the permission of the Berlin Bauhaus Archive.

Above a black nickel-plated iron plate, the frosted glass plate, which catches and reflects the light of the illuminant, seems to float freely. In fact, it is held by a thin nickel-plated tube. The visible incandescent lamp is half covered by a mirrored dome, a trick that the designer did at the time because of the new type of incandescent lamp from which the design can still profit today.

Frame colour: Black painted steel and nickel-plated brass
Umbrella colour: Satin-etched
Frame material: Steel and brass
Shield material: Glass
Height: 168 cm / 66.14 inches
Diameter: Foot: 40 cm / 15.75 inches
Umbrella diameter: 37 cm / 14.57 inches
Lamp socket: E27
IP Protection class: IP20
Illuminant: 1x E27 max. 75 W
Additional information: Each lamp is consecutively numbered and bears the Bauhaus and Tecnolumen logo
