Description

Why do the frames of the Stuttgart designer stand so differently from each other - and both man and woman look good? One could say that this is a question of form. Because Barbara Angeletti has squared the circle to meet current needs in eyewear design. She has succeeded in combining a high degree of beauty and elegance with the structural rigour, even objectivity, of basic geometric elements. The result is visual aids that are highly topical and yet are not subject to seasonal fashion dictates. Angeletti eyewear has the format of classics.

Assuming that glasses always represent a foreign body in the face and can therefore never become organic, Barbara Angeletti abstains from a conventional "dressing" of her glasses. Rather, she strives for a "dialogue" between the design principles of a face and those of a "good", i.e. artistically sophisticated design. In this way, their glasses never "slay" the face of their wearer, and they do without pseudo-baroque ornaments anyway. Instead, the filigree, restrained yet undoubtedly self-confident design of the eyewear is often characterized by an unmistakable portion of humor. The names of the models such as Insekt (1991) and Baal (1996) are not the least of these references.

"If one had designed glasses at the Bauhaus, the result would probably have been something similar to Barbara Angeletti's design," a visual artist once said about her glasses.

This unique eyeglass frame is made of alpaca silver and was handmade in Germany. The glass bead irradiation and a gold and rhodium coating give the eyeglass frame a velvety matt and silver surface.
